This adorable and very mischievous mutt FRANKIE has totally EXHAUSTED her guardian angel. The two-year old Coon Hound Mix spent a long part of her life at The Bridge Home No Kill Animal Shelter before getting adopted into a real furever home. BUT … soon after being adopted, Frankie’s new taste of freedom got way out of hand. Several times she escaped her new home to do what hounds do, which is to sniff their way to the next woodland creature. Somehow Frankie always made it back home safely from these forays.
UNTIL…that is, her most recent escape. FRANKIE WENT MISSING FOR A WHOLE MONTH! Her owners were worried sick! Turns out Frankie got hit by a car SIX MILES from home. A kind stranger found Frankie lying on the road with a busted up leg and rushed her to the vet. The vet put Frankie’s leg back together with two rods and three pins. Once healed enough, she was sent to the shelter, where she was scanned for a chip. And hallelujah, a chip was found!
Frankie was returned to her loving home. Thanks to a generous donation from Elizabethton Federal Savings Bank, Backyard Borders installed an INESCAPABLE fence around Frankie’s yard. Frankie is happy and safe. She even has a suitor! The little male “Chiweenie” (see photo) who lives next door has been courting Frankie. He visits every day and they’re madly in love!
